Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

I offer individual therapy services for teens and adults.

How long is a therapy session?

Each client is offered approximately 55 minutes per session, and the session is tailored to your needs. If you end up not needing the entire session time, that is completely okay. We can end sessions early if the remainder of the time is not needed that day.

What can i expect in my first session?

We will start the first session by reviewing the limits of confidentiality and some practice policies (this usually takes only a couple of minutes). We will then begin reviewing the answers you provided on the intake forms and taking a deeper dive into your current concern and your history. If time allows, we conclude the session by identifying your therapy goals. If time does not allow for therapy goal setting, we will begin the next session with goal setting.

How long does it take to see results?

Therapy is an individualized process. Each client comes to therapy with their own unique set of experiences and goals. Therefore, the answer to this question is also personalized. What I can say is, you get out what you put in.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can help you in many ways. Some of the benefits include:

  • Gaining self-awareness by learning your own narratives & patterns of thoughts, feelings, & behaviors

  • Learning how to change unwanted patterns & narratives

  • Improving your ability to regulate emotions

  • Gaining healthy coping skills

  • Feeling supported & understood

  • Having a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to talk about the things you desperately want to talk about but don’t know where you can

  • Having a greater sense of stability within yourself

  • Improving communication skills & gaining confidence

And the list goes on!

What makes you different?

We are a collection of our lived experiences. I am beyond grateful for the diverse & unique opportunities & experiences I have had in the mental health field. Those experiences have afforded me the ability to develop different perspectives, understandings, & knowledge about what it means to be human. Not only do I bring these understandings with me to each and every session, I also show up with an immense amount of respect and positive regard for each and every client. I care deeply about those I work with and their well-being. A professor once told me when I was in therapy school “every time a client shares something with you, it is a gift”. This is something I truly believe, and I am grateful for the gifts my clients share with me.
